Students will watch the movie Aladdin after having read several of the other stories to look for similarities and differences
Activities and ProjectsRead or listen to one of the stories from 1001 Arabian Nights using StoryNory A Story Treasure Hunt A group selects a well-known fable or folktale. The plot is simplified into a sequence of events that can be transcribed onto cards with short sections of the tale on each. Students hide the cards out of sequence throughout the school or classroom. A treasure map showing the exact location where all the cards are hidden, is given to another class (Or, with clues, one card can lead to the next). Groups of students must find the cards and assemble them in correct order. The treasure is finding the WHOLE story.
Picture Book
Figure out the sequence of events and plot of the story. Create a picture book, using story bird, your own illustrations or another medium. Narrate the story using correct fluency and reading with a clear and interesting voice. SkitRecreate the story into a skit and include scenery and characters in costume. You may not use scripts during the final skit presentation but should write a script in order to practice your parts. Read Write Think InteractiveChoose an interactive (see below). Narrate a story set to music Choose a story. Choose music that would connect with the story. Narrate the story using Movie Maker or Audacity and then import music that helps tell the story.
